The X ray spectra arising from collisions of bare ions (N7+ and O8+ at
20 q KeV incident energy) on Tantalum surface has been measured in th
e 400-1400 eV photon energy range. The hypersatellite to satellite rel
ative intensity ratios have been measured. Evidence of two-electron on
e-photon emission is clearly demonstrated and evaluation of the branch
ing ratio between the two-electron one-photon and the one-photon one-e
lectron decaying process is discussed.
