Isochoric, isobaric and saturation heat capacities of polarizable dipo
lar hard-sphere fluids with variable polarizability were calculated al
ong with - and in the vicinity of - the vapour-liquid coexistence curv
e. As prerequisites of the calculation, orthobaric densities, vapour p
ressures and heats of vaporization were also calculated. The calculate
d heat capacities show realistic behaviour in the vicinity of the phas
e-transition and seem to be suitable for the description of real fluid
s. Therefore, the caloric properties of water, ammonia and carbon mono
xide were also calculated by perturbation theory. A comparison was mad
e between the calculated and experimental results.
