Abstract
Lewis-acid activation of ozonolysis-derived hydroperoxyketals affords intermediate hydroperoxycarbenium ions (protonated carbonyl oxides) wh ich undergo addition of allyltrimethylsilane to directly afford 1,2-di oxolanes.
