Thermalized thallium ions are transported in xenon gas at pressures in
the range 1-3 arm and electric fields in the range 5-63 V cm(-1). No
loss of ions is observed for drift distances up to 23 cm, Applications
to searches for double beta decay in xenon are discussed.
