Abstract
Multiple dermatofibromas (DFs) may occur in association with altered i mmunity, including systemic lupus erythematosus and iatrogenic immunos uppression. We report a case of multiple eruptive DFs which occurred i n a patient positive for human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). The assoc iation of eruptive DFs and HIV infection has not been previously repor ted. The mechanism for the development of DFs in the setting of immune disturbance remains unclear. In the setting of HIV infection, DFs may clinically mimic Kaposi's sarcoma.
