Abstract
Full analytical expressions for the input impedance and radiation fiel ds of the elliptic patch antenna are developed using the cavity model Green's function, where the double series Green's function of the elli ptic disk is reported for the first time. These expressions can handle any mode of operation and eccentricity of the elliptic disk. The perf ormance of the elliptic patch antenna is then investigated as a functi on of eccentricity, focal length and feed position. The resulting theo retical predictions show good agreement with experiment.
