Abstract
Dosimetric response of microcrystaline L-alpha-alanine and standard bo vine bone powder on 3.4 MeV/amu Co-59 ions (LET similar to 5500 eV/nm) was investigated. The long-lived paramagnetic centers created by ion beams were measured after 51 and 420 days. Relative sensitivity compar ed to gamma rays was estimated at 0.2 for L-alpha-alanine and 0.15 for standard bovine bone powder. Copyright (C) 1996 Elsevier Science Ltd
