Abstract
The authors consider the design of quadrature mirror filter (QMF) bank s using digital allpass filters. The QMF banks consisting of an allpas s filter and a pure delay section have an approximately linear phase r esponse, and the phase distortion can be minimised by using another ad ditional allpass filter as an equaliser.
