Abstract
Defects produced by alpha (He+ beam) and gamma irradiation in gypsum a nd barite were studied by electron spin resonance. SO3- at g = 2.004 i n gamma-irradiated synthetic gypsum was selectively detected using ele ctron spin echo. A total dose of 1.4 kGy was obtained from the dose-de pendence of the phase relaxation time of hole-type centers (g = 2.019, 2.013 and 2.01) in barite desert rose.
