Xj. Li et Gcm. Meijer, A NOVEL SMART RESISTIVE-CAPACITIVE POSITION SENSOR, IEEE transactions on instrumentation and measurement, 44(3), 1995, pp. 768-770
A novel smart resistive-capacitive angular position sensor is presente
d. The main advantages of this low-cost system are its simplicity, hig
h stability and high reliability. A very linear oscillator is used in
the processing circuit to convert the position quantity to a period-mo
dulated signal which can directly be read out by a microcontroller. Th
e system does not need an A/D converter. The nonlinearity of the smart
angular position sensor system is less than +/-0.3% (+/-0.9 degrees)
over the range of 270 degrees.
