We study semi- and non-leptonic decays of B and D mesons in the heavy-
quark effective theory (HQET). By using the maximum likelihood method,
it is shown that not only B decays but also D decays (D-0 --> K- (l)
over bar v(l), D-0 --> K(-)pi(+) and K(-)rho(+)) are well described if
O(<(Lambda)over bar>/m(c)) and O(<(Lambda)over bar>/m(s)) corrections
are both taken into account.
