Two cases of diffuse dendriform pulmonary ossification are reported wh
ich was diagnosed postmorten. Both patients had a previous history of
chronic obstructive pulmonary disease with pneumonic complications. Th
e radiological study was interpreted as pulmonary fibrosis in the firs
t case, an entity which ranks first in the differential diagnosis. In
some cases the obtention of highly contrasted X-ray films can be usefu
l for recognizing this are entity.
