Abstract
In order to measure the mass flow rate of randomly distributed solids flowing in pneumatic conveyors the sensing fields need to be uniform s o that, ideally, any particle will contribute equally to the flow sign al wherever it exists within the sensing field. Four different sensing techniques are discussed based on capacitive, electrostatic, microwav e and nucleonic principles with regard to their homogeneous sensing ch aracteristics.
