Abstract
A new series of compounds of composition (Ba1-xSrx)(2)(Sr0.67Bi0.33)(P b1-yBiy)O-6-delta has been prepared and characterized by powder X-ray and neutron diffraction studies. The phases adopt the cubic (NH4)(3)Fe F6 type structure (space group Fm3m) with Sr2+ ions occupying the B si tes. TGA and neutron refinements show oxygen vacancies and a large ani sotropy associated with the O atoms. The anisotropy is discussed in te rms of a vacancy model. (C) 1995 Academic Press, Inc.
