J. Takayama et al., THE AUTOMATED MDF WITH THE BLOCKING METHOD - DEVELOPMENT OF THE AUTOMATED MAIN DISTRIBUTION FRAME-4000 TYPE, NTT review, 7(3), 1995, pp. 98-103
NTT have developed a remote controlled MDF called the Automated Main D
istribution Frame 4000 Type (A-MDF4000), which can hold about 14,000 s
ubscriber-cable side terminals (input terminals) and about 12,000 offi
ce-equipment side terminals (output terminals). By developing of the A
-MDF4000, we produced a system that could hold twice as many output te
rminals as the former A-MDF. We used the blocking method for the A-MDF
4000, and as a result this system can hold about 4,000 output terminal
s, where as the former system could hold 2,000 output terminals. Furth
ermore, a system controller of the A-MDF4000 can multi-control three s
ets of systems, and so the A-MDF4000 can be extended to hold about 12,
000 output terminals. This paper describes the outline of A-MDF4000, i
fs hardware characteristics, and the algorithm for the reduction of bl
ocking.
