Abstract
The development of an automated water target for the production of F-1 8 is described. The system was fully tested and shown to be reliable a nd secure. The chemical separation of F-18 was carried out using an an ion-exchange resin and K2CO3 as eluent. The F-18 production yields wer e, on average, (4.81+/-0.42) MBq/mu Ah and the specific activity was h igher than 6.623 x 10(5) MBq/mmol. Heat transfer measurements and calc ulations were made.
