Abstract
The wave resistance of a fast displacement hull with a transom stern h as been calculated using several different theoretical methods. The re sults of the calculations have been compared with experimental data fo r a hull from the National Physical Laboratory (NPL) round-bilge hull series. The comparison has shown that the Neumann-Kelvin theory gives a result which is much lower than the experimental data, while Tulin's theory gives results in very close agreement with the data for the hi gher Froude numbers, above approximately F-n = 0.9.
