Abstract
Next-generation multiprocessors will be deployed as servers rn a multi media environment. Current servers cannot handle multimedia traffic in ternally and effectively deliver the network's high bandwidth to the p rocessing and storage subsystems. Three proposed scalable, subsystem-b ased, multimedia server architectures use ATM to tackle this problem.
