Abstract
The eta(2)-ditellurido derivatives, M(PMe(3))(4)(eta(2)-Te-2)H-2 (M = MO, W) are synthesized by the reactions of M(PMe(3))(5)H-2 With elemen tal tellurium; the conversion of M(PMe(3))(4)(eta(2)-Te-2)H-2 to the t erminal tellurido complexes M(PMe(3))(4)(Te)(2) provides an unpreceden ted example of a transformation that involves oxidative cleavage of a ditellurido ligand at a single metal centre.
