Abstract
A Transformational strategy for leadership and organization of cardiov ascular services was designed by the nursing and physician leaders of the Cardiovascular Department at Children's Hospital in Boston. The ne w Cardiovascular Program included changes in governance, administratio n, and clinical operations. This organizational innovation is discusse d and the successful outcomes achieved to date are described. The leve l of creativity and commitment demonstrated by all staff is highlighte d.
