Syntheses are reported for some 2-aryl-3-(benzamidomethyl and methoxy)
-6(7 and 8)-chloro-and 6(and 8)-methoxy-imidazo[1,2-a]pyridines. In te
sts of the ability of these compounds to displace [H-3]diazepam from r
at brain membrane, those with g-chloro and 6-methoxy groups bound most
strongly, and relatively small differences only were observed between
corresponding imidazo[1,2-a]pyridines and imidazo[1,2-b]pyridazines.
