Abstract
In the binuclear [(VO2)(2)(TPHPN)](+) cation of the title compound, [V 2O4(C27H29N6O)]I.2H(2)O, the two tridentate halves of the symmetrical TPHPN- ligand are arranged so that the three donor N atoms are fac at one pseudo-octahedral metal centre but mer at the other. The strong tr ans influence of the oxo ligand is apparent from trends in the mu-V-O and V-N bond lengths.
