Abstract
The title compound, C13H16N2O, is a new laser dye. The quinolone ring system is essentially planar. The methyl and the amino groups at C(5) and C(8) are in equatorial positions with respect to the ring. The iso propyl group is inclined from the plane of the aromatic ring. N-H ... O and weak C-H ... O hydrogen bonds are formed.
