Three new neolignans, puberulins A [1], B [2], and C [3], were isolate
d from Piper puberulum. Their structures and relative stereochemistrie
s were determined from spectral data and the X-ray crystallographic an
alysis of 1. Compounds 1 and 3 inhibit specific platelet activating fa
ctor receptor binding with IC50 values of 7,3 and 5.7 mu M, respective
ly.
