Jj. Folk et Ag. Musa, MANAGEMENT OF PERSISTENT LYMPHOCELE BY SCLEROTHERAPY WITH DOXYCYCLINE, European journal of obstetrics, gynecology, and reproductive biology, 60(2), 1995, pp. 191-193
Three cases of lymphocele after lymphadenectomy for gynecologic malign
ancy are presented. These patients had large, symptomatic lymphoceles
resistant to percutaneous catheter drainage. Sclerotherapy with a sing
le dose of doxycycline was administered percutaneously to each patient
. Single treatment achieved resolution in two patients. The third had
a persistent lymphocele requiring excision. To our knowledge, doxycycl
ine has not been used for sclerotherapy for lymphocele following radic
al gynecologic surgery. It may represent a viable addition to the cons
ervative management of lymphoceles.
