Abstract
A uniformly applicable solution is constructed in the neighbourhood of the leading edges of a thin three-dimensional body penetrating into a compressible fluid. Examples of such solutions are given for thin cyc lically-symmetric bodies with plane facets for various entry condition s. Copyright (C) 1996 Elsevier Science Ltd.
