J. Pierart et al., TYROSINE PROTEIN-KINASE ACTIVITY IN MAMMA RY-CARCINOMA, BENIGN LESIONS AND NORMAL MAMMARY TISSUE, Revista Medica de Chile, 123(2), 1995, pp. 165-175
Tyrosine proteln kinase (TPK) activity is associated to malignant cell
ullar transformation. This work compares TPK activity in 27 surgical b
iopsy samples of mammary carcinoma, 10 samples of fibroadenomas, 13 sa
mples of fibrocystic breast disease and 27 samples of normal mammary t
issue. TPK activity was determined in tissue homogenates using (Val(5)
) angiotensin II as exogenous substrate. In samples of mammary carcino
ma TPK activity was 33.86 +/- 32.98 pmol P32/mg protein/30 min. This v
alue was significantly higher that those observed in fibrocystic disea
se (3.92 +/- 2.35), fibroadenomas (13.86 +/- 10.9) and normal tissue (
3.56 +/- 3.02).
