Abstract
Mass spectrometry is a venerable analytical tool that has been used fo r some time in biochemistry for the analysis of small molecules, such as steroids. More recently, physicists have solved the problems associ ated with Vaporizing and ionizing proteins and peptides, thereby allow ing mass spectrometry to take on new roles in investigating protein se quences, structures and modifications.
