Abstract
The synthesis of Tl-Ba-Ca-Cu-O(Ag(y)) HTSC films corresponding to the 2223 phase through the spray pyrolysis technique has been carried out. These films are found to possess one of the highest known T(c) values for such films of approximately 115 K and exhibit one of the highest J(c) values of 1.25 x 10(5) A cm-2 (16 K) and 0.312 x 10(5) A cm-2(77 K) for Ag content of 0.35 corresponding to Tl2Ba2Ca2Cu3O10(Ag0.35). Th e enhancement of J(c) due to Ag addition has been found to depend on t he Ag content. This dependence has been found to be explicable in term s of Ag-induced grain boundary passivation and Ag segregation at the g rain boundary-grain interface.
