Abstract
AMBHA-The American Managed Behavioral Healthcare Association-was forme d by a number of the country's leading national behavioral health mana ged care firms in order to influence the national reform debate and do cument the cost effectiveness of managed care techniques in this setti ng. Recently, AMBHA undertook the challenge of setting standardized qu ality assessment measures and methods and related benchmarks. The auth or describes the association's beginning efforts to develop a behavior al healthcare ''report card'' addressing basic elements of access, cli ent satisfaction, quality and outcomes.
