We show the contribution of the electrochemical impedance technique in
the characterization of damage in slow strain rate tests in a corrosi
ve environment for different strain rates. From the results, the evolu
tion of impedance modulus and phase versus time at a fixed frequency c
an be correlated to the crack propagation for each strain rate studied
and from electrochemical impedance spectroscopy an approach by electr
ic equivalent circuits can be considered.
