Abstract
A new strontium thallate has been prepared by direct solid state inter action of SrO with Tl2O3 at 900-degrees-C. Its composition, Sr2Tl2O5, was determined using physical and chemical analyses. TEM studies and X RD analysis show that the crystal symmetry is orthorhombic with unit c ell parameters: a = 3.502(2) angstrom; b = 11.506(9) angstrom; c = 13. 798(9) angstrom; possible space groups are C m c2(1), C c2m, C m cm.
