Abstract
Ticlopidine, a platelet aggregation inhibitor, has been approved to de crease the risk of thrombotic stroke. We describe a 75-year-old white woman who developed acute renal failure 10 days after initiating ticlo pidine therapy. A renal biopsy revealed interstitial infiltrates conta ining lymphocytes and eosinophils. To our knowledge this is the first report of ticlopidine-induced acute interstitial nephritis.
