Abstract
We review the key features of the Ist and 2nd level triggers and the s ubsequent data acquisition for the ATLAS experiment at LHC. Particular attention is given to compatibility of the architecture with the most important physics processes. Modelling and custom design developments , and plans for prototype testing of the DAQ, are described.
