Abstract
This paper discusses suitable information concepts for the context of library and; information science. After indicating that information co ncepts discussed in this field are roughly divided into three categori es, objective information; subjective information, and information as process, the characteristics of each group are examined to indicate th at each of the three is closely related to the others in, the context of communication between human minds, and that which of the three will be emphasized depends on the specific context, such as the informatio n phenomenon concerned with, purpose of the study, and so on. The ques tions for further investigation are also mentioned.
