Abstract
Two novel fungal metabolites, ergophilones A and B, were isolated as p hospholipase A, inhibitors. The planar structures were determined on t he bases of UV, MS and NMR analyses, and the stereochemistries were el ucidated by the NOE experiments, coupling constant values and CD analy ses. Ergophilones A and B contain three structural moieties, i.e., erg ostane skeleton, azaphilone chromophore and o-orsellinic acid, respect ively.
