Abstract
In this letter, we report a technique of fabricating buried channel si lica-based optical waveguide containing the largest rare-earth concent ration ever reported, i.e., 3 wt% in Nd2O3. Instead of the flame hydro lysis technique, these waveguides are manufactured by the standard MCV D method originally designed for fiber preform fabrication.
