Abstract
The aim of this work is to study the specific aspects of the biaxial l ow cycle fatigue on a magnesium-lithium alloy which has a compact hexa gonal structure.This kind of structure implies that the strain mechani sms are mainly slipping, on basal and prismatic plane and twinning. Lo w cycle fatigue tests have been performed with different loading condi tions (tension-compression, torsion and tension-torsion in phase and o ut-of-phase). Macroscopic and microscopic behaviour of the cyclic plas tic deformation is described.
