Abstract
Very thin deformation twins have been observed after plastic deformati on in two intermetallics. The first is a single phase Co3Ti (L1(2)) po lycrystal and the second a TiAl (L1(0)) lamella which is part of a TiA l-Ti3Al lamellar alloy. From conventional and high resolution electron microscope observations, mechanisms are proposed to explain the propa gation of these twins.
