Abstract
The reactive dianion nido-B10H122- has been shown to insert silicon mo ieties to generate heteroundecaboranes of the form 7-R-7-SiB10H12-. NM R data for two new derivatives (R = H, Ph) are presented in addition t o a proposed mechanism of insertion.
