Synthesis and characterization of isotypical compounds N(3)P(3)Ph(2)Pz
(4) . MX(2) (M = Cu, X = Cl or Br; M = Co, X = Cl) are reported. The X
-ray crystal structure of N(3)P(3)Ph(2)Pz(4) . CoCl2 . 0.5CH(2)Cl(2) i
s described. The structure is a distorted trigonal bipyramid in which
the cobalt atom is coordinated by a ligand molecule through the two no
ngeminal pyrazolyl pyridinic nitrogens at the equatorial sites and a c
yclophosphazene ring nitrogen at the axial position. The remaining axi
al and equatorial positions are occupied by the two chlorine atoms.
