Abstract
An ultraviolet spectrophotometric method has been developed to estimat e embelin in the berries of Embelia ribes. The maximum absorption of e mbelin was found at 291 nm in chloroform and was found to obey the pho tometric linearity. The method was applied to estimate embelin in diff erent formulations.
