This review deals with organosolv pulping of lignocelluloses, e.g. woo
ds and agricultural wastes, by using phenols as a pulping agent. The e
ffect of lignocellulosics feedstock, pulping parameters, e.g. phenol/w
ater ratio, catalyst, time and temperature of cooking, are discussed.
Properties of the produced pulps are also discussed; in addition to th
e possibility of chemical recovery.
