Abstract
Lithium insertion into the silver vanadium oxide, Ag2V4O11, was invest igated at 25 and 100 degrees C, and was found to be reversible through out the composition interval 0 < x < 7, x being the composition parame ter in LixAg2V4O11. Silver was found to be mobile in the oxide, and fo r 0 < x < 2 insertion of lithium is associated with reduction of silve r ions to metallic silver. When lithium is extracted, silver ions re-e nter the structure.
