Abstract
The finishing mill does not have any automatic gage control. Because o f the descaling headers installed in the first interstands, the strip must be kept very close to the pass-line. Therefore, the HSM has devel oped, for the three first interstands, a flow controller including ten sion and loop control, without using loopers. This equipment allows au tomatic rolling with a straight strip, reduces misrolling and improves strip width performance.
