SURGICAL REPAIR OF A VENTRICULAR SEPTAL-DEFECT IN A PATIENT WITH TRISOMY-8 SYNDROME

We surgically repaired a ventricular septal defect (VSD) in a patient with trisomy 8 syndrome. This case illustrated a number of characteris tic clinical features associated with trisomy 8 syndrome patients whic h have previously been reported in the literature. However, our patien t's VSD was not found to be particularly different from the VSD of pat ients without chromosomal abnormalities during either the surgery or t he postoperative course.
