ALFVEN PULSES IN THE IONOSPHERIC WAVE-GUIDE

Exact explicit solutions, describing the propagation of wideband non-s inusoidal waveforms in the ionospheric Alfven waveguide bp means of no n-separable electromagnetic fields, are presented. The dispersive modu lation of these fields is shown to result in the formation of quasimon ochromatic oscillations at the wings of the Alfven pulses. The frequen cies of these oscillations are close to the cut off frequencies of the waveguide.
