Abstract
A 23-year-old man developed cellulitis and ascending lymphangitis of t he right leg, Blood cultures and skin saline aspirates were sterile, G ram stain of the aspirate did not show any bacteria, Direct and indire ct immunofluorescent staining with polyclonal and monoclonal antibodie s to Streptococcus pyogenes revealed streptococci in the reticular der mis, The cellulitis resolved following treatment with intravenous cefa zoline.
