In this work the hydrolysis of Ta(V) in 3.0M KCI has been studied by m
easuring the N3O+ ion concentration with a glass electrode. The experi
mental work consisted of automatically controlled potentiometric titra
tions. The results were treated using graphical and numerical methods
and, as a result, the hydrolysis process can be considered as a homonu
clear protolysis. Finally, the results obtained were compared with oth
er data found in the literature and a hydrolysis model for Ta(V) was b
uilt by means of the modified Bromley theory.
