Abstract
An equivalent circuit for open circuit conditions was derived to descr ibe the transport properties of ABO(3) perovskite materials with proto nic, oxygen ion and electronic conduction when the composition of the atmosphere is a variable. The open circuit model can be used for inter preting the results of concentration cells, which might be useful to s tudy the relevant material properties of this type of materials. This model is also used to discuss the basic features and limitations of po tentiometric gas sensors based on this type of materials.
